If anybody has any other ideas on how to update it so that safe mode notice goes away I'd appreciate it. It said it's on version 12.(200? It's not on in front of me now, number may have been slightly different, but version 12 for sure). When I press shift-V it would light the version "V" up but as soon as I let go of the keys it would go out and I couldn't press it. (I don't have multirack to see the system monitor in that) I couldn't get rid of the "safe mode" status on the soundgrid server setup though.
I looked in the server console and ran the TOP command and see the cpu running between 5-8% most of the time, if not lower. I ran a stereo rack of 8x C6's and a stereo rack of trueverbs and it was at 4% load! Temperature stayed between 50-60C.

I did go into the BIOS and set it to default boot to usb, and set the fan to low temp mode (rather than low noise or full fan on- maybe full fan would be a better choice?). Unfortunately I don't have any more space in my rack for a 2U so I'll have to live with the noise - it's not so bad however. I'd suggest anyone who's intending to rackmount their DIY build to use a 2U case with a good CPU cooler. Works great under both LV1 and SG Studio (both v11) The only issue is the fan gets a little loud when the CPU is under heavy load, a bit louder than the Extreme Server. It performs excellently, even out-performing the official Waves SG Extreme v3 I have. So I finally finished my server, packed it in a 1U case with a cpu blower fan.
